Having experience abroad to have certain stories to share to others are additional values for students. In International class of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta, there is a program of campus trip abroad. This program is aimed to gain beneficial relation between school or university. It is held once a year for each grader, and for this year there are the 11th and the 12th grader which is having this program to do.
On October, 3rd 2023, the 12 grader students, it is about 36 members went to Singapore. This visitation is the second time activity, continuing for the first program that holding on October last year to Malaysia. We visited Singapore University of Social Science for the campus trip. In this occasion, the general stadium discussed about how could students prepare their study in the future. Collaborated with the college students there, the students of SMA Batik 1 Surakarta are so enthusiast with this class activity.
Besides having experience to be international college students, they have more knowledge to prepare their study plan. At the end of this session, they are 5 students performed traditional dance of Indonesia. The choreography of this dance is original created by the teacher and students in collaboration. All of the audiences in the room are entertained with performance of the students.
Other destination is the Singapore Indonesian School. This school is under responsibility of the ministry of education and culture of Indonesia. The students of this school are Indonesian. The student’s parents are working in Singapore for certain period. The curriculum in this school also lies to curriculum Indonesia which is ‘Kurikulum Merdeka’. Both of students in this opportunity having big game. They identify certain movie to be discussed together in their both point of view. Engaging psychological feeling between them as the one that having the same nationality is the wonderful view.
Next destination, it is the embassy of Indonesia in Singapore. We have a discussion about the international relation between two countries included Indonesia. Also giving motivation to continue study in Singapore due to many possibilities benefits that you might gain by studying in Singapore. The goal of this visit is also to reconnect partnership that had been done before in Chingay Parade 2020 where SMA Batik 1 Surakarta is as the main performance in this exhibition. Other places to visit, that is popular places in this country such as Singapore Universal Studio, Marina Bay, Garden Bay the Bay, Merlion, and the Orchad Road. End up the trip, this program held completely perfect with the support and companion of the school. Arrived with many stories brought from Singapore, the students normally active to study at the classroom on the next Monday, 9th October 2023. In addition, this program will be followed for the 11th Grader on October 24th to Malaysia.
